Excursions from Hoi An

Discover Hoi An and its surroundings

Hoi An is a charming and well-preserved town in central Vietnam, located on the coast about 35 km south of Da Nang. Recognizable by its stunning wooden architecture, it bears the influence of Japanese, Chinese, and, to a lesser extent, French traders who settled there from the 15th century onward.

Since 1999, Hoi An has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with more than 800 historical buildings carefully maintained and restored over the years. The iconic Japanese Covered Bridge remains the city’s symbol, reflecting the cultural harmony between the Japanese and Chinese communities of the time. Known for its craftsmanship, tailor shops, and fishing traditions, Hoi An embodies Vietnam’s cultural diversity.

Today, its charm and authenticity attract travelers from all over the world. The town’s human scale and peaceful atmosphere make it a delight to explore on foot. After wandering through its lantern-lit streets, you can unwind with an excursion to the nearby Cham Islands or enjoy the region’s exquisite local cuisine. Discover Hoi An and its enchanting surroundings for a truly unforgettable experience.

When to Visit Vietnam?

The ideal time to visit Vietnam depends on the region you plan to explore, as the country spans a wide range of climates.

  • In the North, each of the four seasons reveals a different charm: mild spring and autumn, perfect for Hanoi and the northern mountains; hot, humid summers that bring the rice fields to life; and cool, misty winters that cloak the landscapes in a mysterious beauty.

  • In Central Vietnam, sunshine prevails most of the year, though from September to November, occasional typhoons and heavy rains give destinations like Hué and Hoi An a unique, dramatic allure.

  • In the South, the climate is divided into two main seasons: the rainy season (May to October) and the dry season (November to April), both offering warm, pleasant temperatures year-round.
