The central land does not only offer beautiful sea, but also attracts visitors by many interesting things and there are top 15 best places to visit in the Central Vietnam that you should not miss. 

1. Pu Luong natural reserve, Thanh Hoa

Located in the Northwest Thanh Hoa, in Quan Hoa and Ba Thuoc provinces, Pu Luong natural reserve offers a diversified fauna and flora system and is one of the best destinations for adventure lovers.

For those who love adventuring, conquering the peak of Pu Luong (the highest mountain in the area with the height of 1700 above sea level) will be an unforgettable experience. Hardness and tiredness after five hours trekking seem disappear as soon as you reach the peak of Pu Luong and enjoy the wonderful panoramic view of Pu Luong valley. Specialty of Pu Luong is “rice” and “hill tribes”. The best time to visit Pu Luong is the rice blooming season in the mid-June and October.

2. Lan Chau island, Nghe An

The island is located near Cua Lo beach, the locals names it Ru Coc (toad) island, because it looks like a giant toad toward to the sea. Lan Chau island has a special terrain dividing Cua Lo beach into two separate areas. At sunset, the island’s bottom looks like being sunk into the sea. When the tide falls, west of the island connecting to the land forms a peninsula. There are steep cliffs spreading out to the sea in the Eastern island. Over the time, the stones here are eroded forming interesting shapes.

3. Mooc stream, Quang Binh

The stream is located on the Road 20 – Quyet Thang in a branch of western Ho Chi Minh road which is 10 km away from the tourist center of Phong Nha to the Northwest. Travel along the windy road with green forest covered, you will see the stream right in the central valley of high limestone mountains opening out to Chay river. The central stream widens 350 meters. This is the place of colorful nature with lake, stream and waterfall.

4. Road through Hai Van pass – Lap An lagoon and Bach Ma national park, Hue

Start at Hai Van Quan, Hue on the Hai Van pass spreading out to Bach Ma national park, it is only 60 km but you surely are dipped into the breathtaking scenery. During the way down on Hai Van pass, you will see Lang Co bay and the road through tunnel of Hai Van.

At the end of the pass, you will reach the T-junction of 1A. However, you should not go on this way, let turn left to Nguyen Van road to enjoy the entire beauty of Lap An lagoon which is totally splendid and romantic. On the way, you can see many seafood restaurants, take a stop and enjoy local fresh seafood.

From Nguyen Van road to the end of 1A road, go through Phuoc Tuong tunnel; you will see T-junction of Cau Hai, just turn right from here, you will reach Bach Ma national park. The park has many interesting things to offer. 5. Hoa Trung lake, Danang

The lake is located in Hoa Lien commune (Hoa Vang district, Danang) which is about 20 km from the central city and is recognized as the grassland of Tay Tang in central Danang with many vast lawns encircling the artifact lake.

This is an ideal place for those who want to experience the dugout canoe ride on the emerald water lake. The canoes are made by the local fisherman who bread the floating fish.

6. Bay Mau coconut forest, Hoi An

The Bay Mau coconut forest is located in Cam Thanh commune which is about 5 km away from Hoi An. The forest is locally known as Southwest region of Hoi An ancient town. There is no clue for the name of this place, but it is known that this forest spreading out to hundreds hectares and has remained for hundreds year. This is considered as precious place for add to the beauty of Hoi An.

7. Tam Thanh mural village, Quang Nam

Located in Trung Thanh, Tam Thanh, Tam Ky, Quang nam, about 70 km from Danang, Tam Thanh village’s walls are drawn by Korean painters with over 100 murals. Currently, this place has become very famous as a “should-not-miss” place in Quang Nam. Besides visiting the village, we can enjoy swimming on the local sea and explore the life of the locals.

8. Trang Minh Long waterfall, Quang Ngai

Located in Thanh An, Minh Long, 23 km from Quang Ngai city to the Southwest, this place is surrounded by chains of mountains and beautified by the green of forest making the scenery more romantic and tranquil. The waterfall is very magnificent with the height of 40 meters.

The water falls to the bottom and flows along the beneath 20-meter-wide stream with jutting stones before merging with other small streams. In the lake beneath the waterfall, there is a lake which has a lot of blowfishes – a local specialty.

9. Ky Co, Quy Nhon

Located about 25 km from Quy Nhon city, Ky Co beach belongs to Nhon Ly island commune. The beach is famous for its untouched beauty. This is considered as “the best paradise” of Nhon Ly. The sea here is shallow with mild waves. The beach is the perfect combination of emerald water and pristine reefs and sandy beach.

10. Mai Nha island, Phu Yen

Mai Nha island is recognized as the island of Robinson in An Hai, Tuy An, Phu Yen. It is not quite far from the coast, but this is an ideal place to discover the untouched beauty of Phu Yen which is not quite popular to many people. The best time for traveling to this place is from March to August. During this time, the sea is fairly peaceful.

11. Eo Gio, Quy Nhon

From the central city of Quy Nhon, it takes about 30 minutes to Eo Gio. On the way, you will be impressed by the breathtaking landscape of mountains and sea landscape.

12. Ganh Da – Bai Xep, Phu Yen

Located about 16km from Tuy Hoa city, but Ganh Da and Bai Xep are nearly isolated. A spectacular scenery will attract visitors especially first-visit people. This place has a harmonious combination of mountain and vast emerald sea. Besides, if traveling to Ganh Da – Bai Xep on the strong wind day, you can hear the wonderful sound which will make you unforgettable.

13. Hon Noi, Khanh Hoa

It takes about an hour from the wharf of Cau Da to Hon Noi – the place of swallows in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa. The significance of this island is the twin beach which cannot be found elsewhere in Vietnam. In particular, this beach offers two types of water – the cold and the warm on each side which give visitors a strong emotion.

We have to take speed boat to this island. Because, this place is managed by Nha Trang swallow company so you cannot travel there by yourself. The ticket fee is US $15 per person including breakfast, swallow nest bottle, lunch and fruits.

14. Mui Doi, Khanh Hoa

Mui Doi – Hon Dau is often called as East pole located on the Hon Gom island in Van Ninh 80 km from Nha Trang. From Nha Trang, we can ride motorbike or take boat from Dam Mon fishing village.

Conquering Mui Doi is quite hard but very interesting. The road is long with high slopes and hot sandy dunes which you need to undergo. However, when reaching the place, you will be dipped into the stunning landscape. Here you can camp, swim or play games on sandy beach and enjoy seafood.
