Vietnam to issue electronic visa for citizens of 80 countries from July 01st 2020
Citizens of 80 countries will be granted e-visa from July 01st 2020 when traveling to Vietnam, according to the Government's resolution on May 25th 2020
The issuance of e-visas is begun from July 1st for those from Austria, Poland, Belgium, Portugal, Germany, India, South Korea, the United States, Italy, Finland, France, China (including Hong Kong, Macau; not applied to the citizens holding Chinese ordinary e-passport holders)…
8 international airports allow foreigners to enter/exit using e-visas, including: Noi Bai airport (Hanoi), Tan Son Nhat airport (Ho Chi Minh City), Cam Ranh airport (Khanh Hoa), Da Nang airport, Cat Bi airport (Hai Phong), Can Tho airport, Phu Quoc airport (Kien Giang) and Phu Bai airport (Thua Thien Hue).
Travelers can also enter Vietnam by land via 16 border gates such as, Tay Trang (Dien Bien); Mong Cai (Quang Ninh); Huu Nghi (Lang Son); Lao Cai; Na Meo (Thanh Hoa); Nam Can (Nghe An); Cau Treo (Ha Tinh) and Cha Lo (Quang Binh); La Lay, Lao Bao (Quang Tri); Bo Y (Kon Tum); Moc Bai and Xa Mat (Tay Ninh); Tinh Bien and Song Tien (An Giang); Ha Tien (Kien Giang).
13 sea border gates also are opened including: Hon Gai and Cam Pha (Quang Ninh province); Hai Phong; Nghi Son (Thanh Hoa); Vung Ang (Ha Tinh); Chan May (Thua Thien Hue); Danang; Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa); Quy Nhon (Binh Dinh); Dung Quat (Quang Ngai); Vung Tau (Ba Ria - Vung Tau); Ho Chi Minh City; Duong Dong (Kien Giang).
The policy is implemented by the government in accordance with the Law of amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Entry, Exit, Transit, and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam in 2019.
E-visa issued by the Immigration Department to foreigners through the electronic transaction system is valid for one time, not exceeding 30 days. The fee of e-visa is paid through the electronic payment gateway prescribed by the Immigration Department.
Since early 2017, Vietnam has piloted e-visa for citizens of 40 countries, then has expanded to 46 countries.
