Cheap bracelets, card games, flowers, and fresh food are all being served right now. And trust me, the markets are by no means a whirling vortex at the moment, so don't be scared.

Downtown Saigon is a hodgepodge of cultures from every corner of the world. However, during the holidays, they were all tinged with a bit of Vietnamese peculiarities that you may find interesting to visit. For instance, the Japanese restaurant where my sister works was decorated with Vietnamese lanterns and national flags; some of the other restaurants even have a pot of mai tree in front. The aftertaste of the holidays is still lingering all over the place and would make downtown Saigon a wonderful place for you to dive in with friends.
