Day 01: Hanoi - Hoa Binh - Mai Hich
08:00 Depart from Hanoi to Mai Hich via Hoa Binh and Mai Chau. You will cross the beautiful landscapes such as rice paddies, ethnic villages, limestone rocks, green tea hills and sugar cane fields ... Arrival in May Hich at noon and check-in the large traditional Thais Stilts House. Enjoy your local lunch.
In the afternoon, you walk around Mai Hich Village to discover the daily life and craft trades of white Thai minorities. Dinner and overnight at Thai Stilts House.
Day 02: Mai Hich - Moc Chau - Son La
Having breakfast then head out to Son La, passing by the fabulous landscapes Moc Chau: mountains, forests, ethnic villages and tea tree. Stop over to take photos and visit Black Thai Villages and H'mongs Village. You then go through Moc Chau, a place where grows tea, silkworms and dairy cattle breeding. Breakfast at a local restaurant. Keep moving to Son La and you will be arriving Son La in the afternoon, check-in and and visit the old Penitentiary, the museum and Thai’s ethnic market. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 03: Son La - Dien Bien Phu
After breakfast, depart towards Dien Bien Phu through many Black Thais Ethnic Villages and mountains. Stops for photos and have lunch in a local restaurant. Afternoon, visit the city as well as the historical site of the Battle in Dien Bien Phu such as Muong Thanh Bridge, A1 Hill, De Castries Bunker and Dien Bien Phu Museum which contains photos, objects and evidence of the war between France and Vietnam. With the very rudimentary weapons of the Vietnamese soldiers but they contributed to the victory over the seasoned and well-equipped Frenchmen. Overnight at Dien Bien Phu.
Day 04: Dien Bien Phu - Lai Chau
Breakfast at the hotel; depart from Dien Bien Phu to Lai Chau through the magnificent landscapes. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel and hike to the ethnic villages around Lai Chau. Lai Chau is the home of several different ethnic minorities: Lu, Thai, H'mongs, Daos ... You will meet very few tourists in this beautiful region. Return to Lai Chau at the end of the day and discovery Lai Chau on your own. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 05: Lai Chau - Tam Duong - Y Ty
Enjoy your breakfast and depart to Sapa in the morning through the mountains, rice terraces, tea hills and ethnic villages, you follow the road to the Chinese border - one of the most beautiful in Vietnam. You cross the Tram Ton Pass – one of the highest passes in Northern Vietnam. Stop on Tram Ton Pass for a beautiful view in the rugged valleys of terraced rice paddies and Mount Fansipan. You also pass the sky gate - Tram Ton Pass. Upon arrival Y Ty, check in at Y Ty Logde and discover the town including the white H'mongs and Ha Nhi ethnic villages. Dinner and overnight at Y Ty Lodge.
Day 06: Y Ty - Muong Hum market - Yen Bai
After having breakfast, start to discover Muong Hum Weekly Market to avoid the crowds of tourists. Muong Hum market is the typical market which is held in the middle of a mountain, close to the Chinese border. You will meet the ethnic groups of the two countries: Vietnam and China. Lunch at a local restaurant. Depart to Yen Bai through the grandiose landscapes, the hills of green tea and palm trees, the ethnic villages and rice fields. Arrive Yen Bai at the end of the day, check-in at a homestay. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 07: Yen Bai - Hanoi
After breakfast, start hiking through villages of Tays, White Daos, Vu Linh, Tam Vong, Cao Lan. Discover their daily life and get in touch with the locals or you can enjoy a beautiful boat ride on Thac Ba Lake - the largest artificial lake in Vietnam that provides electricity. Enjoy your local lunch. Return to Hanoi in the afternoon, passing the fabulous landscapes: rice fields, green hills of tea, fan trees and rural villages. Arrive Hanoi at the end of the day and end tour ends.
