Visit Vietnam In February: What To Wear In February?

Are you planning a trip to Vietnam for next year? In the early months (from January to march), you will catch a wonderful festival atmosphere across the country. In mid-February, Vietnam is going to greet a new season—Tet (Lunar New Year)—with many cultural activities. This period is considered the best time to see the culture and customs of Vietnam. You will have a good opportunity to dip into the colorful space of flower markets or impressive folk games such as, unicorn dances, water puppet shows…

Spring—The Season Of Vietnam’s Festivals

We are sure that those who have not visited Vietnam will definitely be concerned about Vietnam weather in February and really want to have exact information about this month. In general, during this time, it is quite cold in the North (about 17°C), especially in Sapa and mountainous regions, where it sometimes may drop to under 0°C and we can see light snow. The weather in Central Vietnam sees a better climate type, which is much warmer (from 16°C to 22°C). Southern Vietnam is the warmest region during this time when its temperature is from 24°C to 32°C. It is the best time to travel to Vietnam when you can avoid heavy showers or typhoons.

Accurate Vietnam Weather In The Big Cities

Saigon (Ho Chi Minh city) usually welcomes the Vietnamese New Year with a wonderful climate that can make all visitors pleasant. Best weather to visit Saigon is this time when you will enjoy the tropical spring and lively atmosphere of Vietnam’s traditional Tet holiday. As mentioned above, the temperature varies from 24°C to 32°C with very little rain.

By contrast, people in Hanoi often celebrate the new year in the cold climate type, as its temperature is around 18°C. The climate is quite pleasant during this time. However, the weather type in Hanoi in particular or in North Vietnam in February may make visitors uncomfortable due to its frequent drizzles, which make everything wet and dirty.

Hoi An in particular and Central Vietnam in general are the mixture of climate types of North and South Vietnam. The maximum temperature here is just around 25°C, and the lowest temperature is 19°C. It is really good weather to visit central Vietnam.

Vietnam In February

Many visitors may ask themselves the best places to visit in Vietnam in February. Here are some recommendations for visiting Vietnam.

Vietnam weather in February is the floral season, which is very ideal for a wide range of flowers blooming all over the country. Therefore, we highly recommend visiting flower sites or villages such as Moc Chau (Son La). This is the best place to see pink peach or white plum flowers blossom, which makes this area more romantic and poetic. It is about 200km from Hanoi to Moc Chau. Besides, visitors can combine the trip with Sapa afterwards to enjoy the blooming flowers. In particular, on the trip to Sapa, visitors can take a cable car to conquer the Fansipan mountain with the peak of 3,143 m (or locally known as the roof of Indochina).

In February, Da Lat is also a “must-visit” place, which attracts a lot of “Phuot Thu” (Pack-and-go travellers) to this beautiful place. Da Lat is not only impressive to Vietnamese but also international visitors for its mild climate and diversified flower species blossoming all year round. Despite strong urbanization, Da Lat still retains its unique attractions.

Another wonderful place to visit in Vietnam in February is Tan Quy Dong village in the Mekong Delta. Located on the bank of the Tien River in Sa Dec, Dong Thap province, Tan Quy Dong is not only a source of flowers and plants in Southern Vietnam but also a “must-visit” attraction for nature lovers. Visitors come to this site to enjoy the beauty of works made by the locals in Sa Dec. At this village, you can see some popular plants associated with the life of artisans. Thanks to the skillful hand of the locals, the plants look extraordinary. In particular, this craft village offers about 50 rose species.
