Mountainous Regions Of Vietnam For Trekkers

Nowadays travelers request more information about motorbike and trekking tours in Vietnam to enjoy the adventure of their lifetime, especially young travelers. For Vietnam trekking tours, there are the destinations that travelers choose most.

Northern Vietnam will be a  paradise for your adventure travel project. If you are looking for an off-the-beaten path to discover the most remote areas, we suggest you visit these three destinations:

Tay Con Linh

The Tay Con Linh mountain extends over the two districts of Hoang Su Phi and Vi Xuyen in Ha Giang province.

It is home to the highest peak in Northeast Vietnam, with an altitude of 2419 meters. The discovery of Tay Con Linh promises unforgettable adventures to walkers: the more you gain altitude, the more the landscapes become grandiose. Tay Con Linh is home to spectacular amphitheatres of terraced rice paddies, whose pace varies with the seasons.

In winter and spring, the bare crops reveal a raw soil strewn with burned straw. Between the end of April and the end of May, the flooded terraces sparkle with the reflections of the sun. From July to October, the rice fields are adorned with all ranges of colors, green and then golden yellow.

After a day's walking, taking a break with the locals presents a great opportunity to immerse yourself in the local life of the minority ethnic groups in the region. In the village of Ha Thanh, at the foot of the Tay Con Linh mountain range, you will be welcomed by Mr. Kinh's Tay family in his traditional stilt house. The hosts will be happy to share with you the daily moments of their family and will make you taste the culinary specialties of their ethnic groups.

Phu Ta Ca

Second highest point of the province of Ha Giang, the massif of Phu Ta Ca is considered as one of the last borders of Vietnam because of its protective inaccessibility.

The chain of Phu Ta Ca consists of three sub-summits, hence its name of Three Fairies, the main one culminating at 2276m. The massif is covered by an old primary mountain forest; lichens and tree ferns grow there in the shade of old trees tormented and sparkling trees. Its undergrowth is dark and wet, often dripping with fog: woody solitudes conducive to the cultivation of cardamom, treasure and fortune of the Hmông who populate this region.

Trekking in the Phu Ta Ca area could be done along the north-south axis Seo Lung-Tung Ba. Perched at an altitude of 1200m, Seo Lung is a white Hmong village of about sixty families living on the northern flank of the massif. By returning to Seo Lung, walkers will be able to stay at Mr. So's and immerse themselves in their centuries-old house.

Thong Nong

Thong Nong is a remote limestone massif in the Cao Bang province, a province located in the far northeast of Vietnam, on the Chinese border.

The beauty and authenticity of the site remain intact due to its location away from the modern world.

You are warmly welcomed to these 3 amazing destinations to explore the unique mountainous living style of ethnic groups in Northern Vietnam.
