Day 1: Hanoi – Hoang Su Phi
In the morning, drive north of Vietnam. After leaving the Red River Delta, the landscape gradually becomes more mountainous. Terraced rice fields begin to appear after a few hours on the road. In the afternoon, arrive in Nam Hong, a remote village of the Dao ethnic group in the Song Chay range.
Check in at Hoang Su Phi Lodge, a mountain retreat featuring charming bungalows made of bamboo and wood with thatched roofs. Enjoy a short walk around the village to stretch your legs and admire the breathtaking panorama of terraced rice fields and mountain ranges. Dinner with a local family, followed by a traditional music and dance performance by ethnic groups in the area.
Overnight in a mountainside bungalow.
Day 2: Nam Hong – Nam Son
After a hearty breakfast, begin your trek. Follow small trails that wind up and down along the mountain curves through magnificent terraced rice fields until you reach Nam Khoa, home to the Dao Man Ta Pan ethnic group.
Lunch with a local family. Continue trekking through areas recognized as part of Vietnam’s national natural heritage. Depending on the season, the rice fields come alive with farming activities — plowing, transplanting, or harvesting.
Arrive in the afternoon at Nam Son, inhabited by the Dao with long tunics. While they share the same materials (cotton and indigo dye) as the Dao Man Ta Pan, their attire and hairstyles differ.
Dinner and overnight with a Dao long-tunic family.
Walking time: 6 hours
Distance: 18 km
Day 3: Nam Son – Tan Phong
Today’s trek is slightly more challenging, following ascending trails into more remote and untouched regions with stunning panoramic views.
Lunch with a Red Dao family in the small village of Doan Ket.
In the afternoon, continue walking through vast, breathtaking terraced rice fields that stretch as far as the eye can see. The effort is rewarded by the beauty of these centuries-old human landscapes.
Dinner and overnight with a Nung or Dao long-tunic family in Tan Phong village.
Walking time: 6 hours
Distance: 16 km
Day 4: Tan Phong – Quang Vinh – Ban Luoc

How to Book Your Trip?
Booking a trip is an essential step that deserves careful thought, organization, and support. The first step is to clearly define your expectations — destination, duration, budget, departure period, and preferred travel style (cultural, seaside, adventure, tailor-made, etc.).
Next, it is recommended to contact a specialized local travel agency, capable of advising you and designing a personalized itinerary adapted to your preferences and pace. Once the program and quotation are validated, the booking is usually confirmed through a written contract and a deposit payment, ensuring the reservation of services (accommodation, transport, activities, guide).
You will then receive a detailed confirmation along with the necessary documents for the smooth running of your trip. A few days before departure, it is strongly advised to review the final schedule, contacts, and travel conditions.
Booking with an experienced professional ensures a worry-free, well-organized journey without unpleasant surprises.
