It is expected that the opening ceremony of the Discover the National Scenic Terraces Rice Fields Festival in 2018 will take place on the evening of 22 September at Mu Cang Chai stadium with the theme "Mu Cang Chai - Identity and Modernity". The festival " Fying in the Yellow Season" was held from 22 to 23  September, Khèn Mong contest was held from 21 to 22 Sept ( Khèn Mong:  a type of instrument of Mong people), the goat-fight contest held on 23 and 24, the highland market held from 20 to 30 Sept,...

Within the framework of the festival, there are community-based tourism activities in the communes of Che Cu Nha, La Pan Tan, Nam Khat and Mu Cang Chai district with the following contents: visitors experience the cultural values ​​with Thai and Mong ethnic groups in tourist spots on terraced rice fields; experience the cultural values ​​of the Mong ethnic community on terraced rice fields such as: harvesting, threshing and sieving rice or weaving; guide to visitors to the beautiful spots of National Scenic Terraces Rice Fields and tourist spots "Mu Cang Chai Ecolodge" in Hua Khe village, Nam Khat commune.

Discover the National Scenic Terraces Rice Fields Festival is an annual event in honor of the National Scenic Terraces Rice Fields and the cultural values ​​of the Mong ethnic group. It is an opportunity to raise the sense of conservation and promotion of the value of historical relics in association with the development of tourism. At the same time to promote the introduction of the homeland, people, potential, strength and cultural identity of people of Mu Cang Chai ethnic groups to domestic and foreign tourists.
